Welcome to Centreville TaxAide. We will be open – by appointment – at the following times:

Tuesdays, 4 pm - 8 pm

Wednesdays, 1 pm - 5 pm

Saturdays, 10:30 am - 2:30 pm

We will prepare 2023 Federal and Virginia returns for electronic filing. In addition, we can generally handle returns for 2020-2022, and for MD and DC, however not all volunteers are trained in all areas. Please indicate if you have these special needs on the appointment time so we can contact you to re-schedule if appropriate volunteers are not available.

Warning for Feb. 21- Mar. 6: Due to primary elections, we will be in a smaller room in the library where we cannot accommodate any taxpayers. Interviews will be conducted in the open space of the library prior to preparation, and all tax documents will need to be handed over to the counselor at that time. Taxpayers must stay in the library while we complete the return. The review/approval will also be conducted with the taxpayers in the open space.

The additional required forms can be downloaded (in fillable format) at our What to Bring link. At a minimum, make sure you complete the TaxAide Intake/Interview & Quality Review Sheet. All forms are also available in the library’s vestibule by January 22.

There are no COVID protocols in place this year, but mask-wearing may be requested at any time (we will have them available). Please reschedule if you are ill.

To make an appointment, click on Centreville Tax Aide Appointment Sign-Up or visit our site during our open hours. (Same-day walk-ins will be accommodated if we have space available and all forms have been completed.) You will need a separate appointment for each tax return being prepared.
